Justice Overview
UUCTS Social Justice group, The Rainbow Welcome Circle (RWC), was formed in 2023. The goal was to have support for the LGBTQIA+ community and to complete the UUA’s “Five Practices of Welcome Renewal.” We have since expanded the RWC to include all Social Justice Projects anyone wants to champion for UUCTS. We have a potluck/meeting on the 3rd Friday of each month at the UU and online. Our potluck is from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm in the Social Hall. The meeting is from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm in the Forum Room and on zoom.
The RWC’s mission is to follow the motto, “Deeds not Creeds,” which is achieved through several activities and services. Our vision is to respect others around us who differ in our views. At the same time, we aspire to be a beacon of liberal religion in our community. With these goals in mind our covenant is: “Working within the spirit of our Congregational Covenant, we work to fulfill our commitments as a Welcoming Congregation. And further, we seek to identify and address needs, challenges, and injustices experienced by residents of our region with a special concern for the LGBTQIA+ community.”
