Committees
|
-
The
Ministerial Relations Committee
was
recently developed to act as liaison between the minister and
the congregation. The Board selects one member, the minister
selects one member, and both the board and the minister select
one person.
-
The
Endowment Committee
promotes
the fiscal well being of the church through the acquisition and
prudent management of gifts, bequests, endowments, and living
trusts. The congregation elects members.
-
The
Nominating Committee provides for continued leadership in
the church. They present the Board with the slate of leaders to
be recommended and approved at the annual meeting.
-
The
Finance Committee
oversees the financial matters of the church, including shaping
an annual budget and pledge campaign.
-
The
Social Justice Committee
informs
and educates the congregation and the public in areas of social
concern, finding ways and means to rectify social injustice.
-
The
Music Committee
provides
for varied quality music for church services in consultation
with the Minister, the Music Director, and the Choir Director.
-
The
Inness Paintings Committee
arranges for docents and receptionists to provide tours for the
Inness paintings. It is also sensitive to both promotion of and
security for the paintings.
-
The
Hospitality Committee
coordinates the Sunday coffee hours, monthly church dinners, and
other opportunities for social interaction.
-
The
Denominational Affairs Committee
provides a
liaison between the congregation, the UUA, the Florida District,
and area Cluster events. Each church member receives a
subscription to the UU World, our national publication.
-
The
Membership Committee
encourages
the growth of church membership and the retention of current
members. It gives attention to orientation to UUism for all
interested, including prospective and new members. The
committee encourages the inclusion of new members in activities
and service.
-
The
Building and Grounds Committee
provides for the proper maintenance of the church buildings and
grounds. Each Thursday at 10:00 a.m. a work party of volunteers
